College!
20150831
It's college time and I'm turning over a new leaf. It's been roughly 8 months since school ended and the SPM results released. I've been waiting that long and I can't believed that finally, the wait is over. So, the questions are- where to? What course? And why?

First and foremost, I hope y'all didn't waste as much time as I did when I was unemployed. Either way, I'm sure you had the best 6 or 9 months of your lives. Oh yeah- Rumors and news spread like wildfire don't they, in these areas? ;) A lot has happened for me- bittersweet, I'd conclude or as how you want to see it. It was one heck of a roller coaster and finally I'm getting on a new kind of ride.

Many people have been wondering why I got in so late in comparison to others. Most got into college in June and some as early as March (as soon as the results got out, damn son), but me- September. As it has been rumored, yes, I was offered architecture. UiTM. If you haven't knew, I'll be taking a degree program. How? Well, also, if you never knew, there is no such thing as a Diploma in Architecture. Though they still call it that, but really it equates to 'Diploma in Building'. You'll find this course in colleges with no RIBA accreditation. In UiTM, it called what it is- Diploma in Building.

What's the difference? Well, in Building, your course is narrowed to construction technology and solely that, whereas, in architecture you will be taught to appreciate art and THEN apply design languages into new structures and/or buildings. Simple- Building equates to technology and Architecture equates to art and design.

In architecture, you'll have to go through three parts to become a certified architect. The first part is where you'll attain a degree and will be referred to as an Assistant Architect. second part- masters and you'll become an architect and lastly, a PhD. along with an Ar. title, well per say, Ar. Shazwina Azli Izam (Amiin). Architecture is tough, as tough as medics, they say. That is why like medics, it doesn't have diploma. If I ever act like it's the toughest course in the world, it is because it is sort of true and you don't know shit.

So where? Haters, you are gonna love this as much as I do- Sarawak. Yup, all the way in the Land of Hornbills! I cried the first time I was presented the news but after all the persuasion by many, many people, I decided that I should just go for it. Who knows if great things await me there? I heard the Sarawakians are an amazing bunch of people and of course I would so love to learn the culture there and even language/dialect, if possible. Best friends, I'll miss you and definitely be jealous when y'all hang out without me! Tsk. Haha.

All in all, to those who are willing, pray for me.

Yours truly,
